Vancouver College is celebrating the completion of the largest single building ever constructed on campus.
The latest edition to the boys' school established 96 years ago includes classrooms, a dining hall, and a learning commons. The new structure, called Manrell Hall, honours the local Manrell family.
"All of these buildings," said the school's president, John Nixon, at the ceremony, "were built because generous people supported the hundred-year-old vision of a Catholic school for boys with the focus on high quality education, as articulated by the Christian Brothers and Blessed Edmund Rice."

Construction is not yet over at Vancouver College; plans exist to restore and replace the historic brick building on campus (nicknamed "Old VC") with a structure that will include a chapel, gymnasium, and Brothers' residence.
