The annual pro-life gathering Life Chain took place Oct. 5 and 6 across Canada, including dozens of cities in B.C, with all ages gathering for an hour in silent vigil.

The peaceful demonstration is intended to raise awareness about abortion.

In Greater Vancouver, pro-life signs could be spotted at over a dozen Life Chain locations. Parishioners from St. Joseph’s Parish in Port Moody gathered outside their church, while others, such as those in Surrey, held their vigil in public areas like outside Surrey Memorial Hospital.

More than 13,000 abortions are carried out every year in B.C.
