More than 150 Catholic young adults lit up the dance floor at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Port Coquitlam for a dinner and dance inspired by recent photos from outer space that convey the power and beauty of God’s creation.

Titled Night Under the Stars, the dance was put on by Assumption Young Adults and Catholic Young Adults of Surrey, who said they were inspired by new pictures taken by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, which prompted a “sense of awe for the stars and humility at the creation of man.”

Although the weather didn’t cooperate and organizers had to substitute a bonfire and sparklers for the hidden stars, it didn’t keep the young men and women from stepping into the spotlight and dancing the night away.
