Leftover Halloween candy did not go to waste at St. Anthony of Padua School in Vancouver. Students in Grade 6 and 7 collected and bagged donated candy and prayer cards Nov. 7, creating a total of 724 goody bags.

The candy bags were donated to Agape Street Ministry, which distributes the treats to women living on the Downtown Eastside and facing homelessness, addiction, or other challenges, as a way to offer some cheer and start a conversation.

Donating goody bags is an annual tradition for St. Anthony of Padua students and their donation of 724 wrapped treats was their biggest yet.
