It was easy to spot the Catholic influence at a Portuguese festival this June.
The Portuguese cultural society hosted a procession, live music, food, and dancing last month at the Espirito Santo Hall in Surrey. Among the participants were Knights of Columbus in full regalia and women bearing a statue of Our Lady.
Father George Edattukaran of St. Joseph’s Parish in Mission celebrated Mass with the crowd at 11 a.m. before the procession and festivities.
