St. John Brebeuf High School alumnus Chrysostom Mijinke (class of  ’94) was ordained a Dominican priest this June.

Originally from Langley, Mijinke studied at St. John Brebeuf High School in Abbotsford, then at the Seminary of Christ the King at Westminster Abbey in Mission. He earned a bachelor of arts in humanities in 2009 and went on to make his first profession as a Dominican in 2014.

Father Mijinke received holy orders at St. Dominic’s Church in San Francisco June 5 with two other priests and three deacons.

The Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus (or simply the Western Dominican Province) spans all Western U.S. states including Alaska and Hawaii and currently numbers about 140 Dominican friars. The ordination Mass can be viewed below.
