By B.C. Catholic Staff
Pro-life leaders reported an increase in the number of Life Chain locations across Canada this year, with particularly strong numbers in some B.C. locations.
Nearly 300 communities across Canada took part in the annual peaceful pro-life event said Campaign Life Coalition, up from about 270 last year and 250 the year before.
Catholic parishes were strongly represented across B.C. at 31 locations, including Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Maple Ridge, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Smithers.
Life Chain returned to New Brunswick in five locations this year and will come back to Prince Edward Island Oct. 22, meaning all 10 provinces and one territory are taking part this year, said Campaign Life.
