Thank you for reminding us that The B.C. Catholic is one of the few places where a variety of opinions can be expressed. And also for reminding us that we have a right to have a different opinion.

If Bill C10 (to regulate social media) and C36 (to create new hate propaganda offences) pass, then Canadians may be expressing their opinions much less.

I am writing to commend Colleen Roy for her Sept. 20 column “Don’t dismiss God’s gifts of freedom and dignity.”

Thank you for speaking your truth! I pray the Catholic Church takes a strong stand to honour those who in good conscience cannot accept this injection. Allowing passports and mandates and coercion to continue goes against everything I was brought up to believe.

There have to be peaceful healthy choices, especially when options DO exist and are readily available for the prevention and early treatment of this illness.

Only 30 per cent of Canadians have access to palliative care. I hope I have access to it when I get older. Canadians are living longer, and with the Canadian government expanding euthanasia and assisted suicide, more people will be dying.

With the passage of Bill C-7, the law will even allow suicide for some psychiatric patients. We need more palliative care and less assisted suicide.
