After 34 years of dedicated service in the Archdiocese of Vancouver’s Catholic schools, Holy Cross Elementary principal Dino Alberti has announced his retirement, and his contributions to Catholic education and sports in elementary schools will be valued and remembered.
Dino began his career in 1987 at St. Helen’s Elementary where from 1987 to 1997 he was a valuable classroom teacher, coach, and athletic director. He was also vice-principal for six years.
Eventually, Dino left the classroom and set his eyes on an administrative role, as principal of St. Catherine’s from 1997 to 2002, Corpus Christi from 2002 to 2008, and from 2008 to the present at Holy Cross, where he has been an integral part of the school.

Over the years Dino has served on the Athletic Commission in different roles. He was chair of the commission for five years and for the last 12 years has been the athletic commissioner. He was the soccer director for 27 years and the driving force in establishing the Girls Soccer League in CISVA.
The entire Holy Cross School community has greatly benefitted from Dino’s leadership and passion for learning and building community. The smooth functioning of the school and beyond is evidence that Dino gives generously of his time and experience.
Although the students, staff and parents of Holy Cross will definitely miss him, we wish him much success as he moves into his new part-time position at Holy Cross Parish. Happy Retirement, Dino! Personal messages may be sent to wellwishesfordino@hcschool.ca.
