Some of the last apparitions of Our Lady to Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres (1563-1635) contained warnings regarding the corruption of clergy and religious. Our Lady foretold that many priests would come to live only a superficial life of the soul and would be too greatly attached to family and wealth. Those priests would falsely think that holiness could be achieved by the practice of one or two virtues. However, the edifice of spiritual life must be constructed upon the solid foundation of profound humility, without which no virtue can exist.

In December 1634, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, after a day of celebration, Mother Mariana went to the upper choir at 11:30 p.m. for prayers. The Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael appeared to her. St. Michael carried many white tunics. St. Gabriel carried a chalice, a ciborium, and many white lilies. St. Raphael bore an ampulla, or flask, with superb balsam. He also carried many violet-coloured stoles and a writing quill.

Our Lady of Good Success then appeared for the last time to Mother Mariana. Our Lady told Mother Mariana that she would soon leave the world and come to her long-desired fatherland. Our Lady said, “If mortals understood how to appreciate the time given to them and would take advantage of each moment of life, how different the world would be! And a considerable number of souls would not fall to their eternal perdition! This disdain is the fundamental cause of their downfall.”

Our Lady explained to Mother Mariana that the tunics carried by St. Michael were destined for the faithful and fervent nuns throughout time who would live in the Conceptionists’ convent in Quito. The tunics were also for priests and laity who would love Jesus and Mary with simple and upright hearts. They also would love the Conceptionist convent and propagate devotion of Our Lady of Good Success.

Our Lady explained the chalice carried by St. Gabriel contained the Blood of Christ, signifying the grace of the resurrection from sin and the restoration of souls by means of the sacrament of penance. Our Lady said, “See and contemplate the grandeur of this restoring and life-giving Sacrament, so forgotten and even scorned by ungrateful mortals, who in their mad illusions do not realize that it is the only sure means of salvation after losing one's baptismal innocence.” She also said in the confessional the priest assumes the most delicate roles of father, mother, doctor, and judge. Priests must not consider hearing confession futile and a waste of time.

The ciborium filled with hosts signified the sacrament of the Eucharist, which is an antidote against sin and an easy and powerful means for souls to unite themselves to their God and Redeemer. The countless lilies were all the good religious of the Conceptionist order.

Our Lady then explained the ampulla with superb balsam of the sweetest fragrance carried by St. Raphael represented the cloisters and convents. The purity and chastity in cloisters and convents purify the air polluted by those in the world who are given over to the most shameful vices and passions. Our Lady said, “Woe to the world should it lack monasteries and convents! Mortals do not comprehend their importance, for if they understood, they would use their wealth to multiply them, because they provide the remedy for all physical and moral evils.”

The many violet-coloured stoles symbolized the effective action and zeal of good priests. The writing quill was for priests who wrote of the glories and sorrows of Our Lady. It is also for those priests who would write about devotion to Our Lady of Good Success and the life of Mother Mariana. Devotion to Our Lady of Good Success would work prodigies in the 20th century.

Mother Mariana died Jan. 16, 1635. Today her incorrupt body is resting in the Conceptionist convent in Quito.

聖母給瑪利娜.耶穌.陶麗詩姆姆 (1563-1635) 最後顯現的訊息,包括聖職和修道人員的腐敗。聖母預言很多司鐸渡膚淺的靈修生活,太著重了親人及財富,他們以為只寥寥修一兩種德行,便可成聖;然而,他們卻忽略了深層的謙遜德行,是遜守其它德行的基礎。

1634年12月,歡慶了「聖母無染原罪」瞻禮後,瑪利娜姆姆晚上十一時半走到聖詠樓上層祈禱;總領天使彌格、佳播和來福突然顯現:只見聖彌格拿著很多白色長袍;聖佳播拿著聖爵及聖體爵各一只,並有很多白色百合花;聖來福則一手拿著個精緻的小瓶,內盛一些極品的香油,另手拿著很多紫色的司鐸用領帶和執著一枝翎筆。

聖母、「成功之母」隨著顯現 ── 是最後一次的顯現。聖母向瑪利娜姆姆表明,她會很快離開塵世,回到她渴望已久的父家。聖母對姆姆說:「假如人類懂得珍惜和善用天主賜給他們塵世的時刻,世界早已不一樣了!大批靈魂也不會墮入永遠的喪亡!漠視時間就是他們墮落的主因。」

聖母向瑪利娜姆姆解釋聖彌格手中白色長袍,是為贈予那些在基多無玷修院精忠熱心的修女,亦是為那些以正直無私的心愛耶穌、瑪利亞的司鐸和平信徒而準備的,他們都曾鍾愛無玷修院,並推廣對聖母、「成功之母」的敬禮。

聖母續解釋,聖佳播手中的聖爵,盛載著耶穌聖血,象徵修和聖事令靈魂得到罪之赦,回復聖潔;她說:「細看和默想這起死回生的聖事,何等壯麗,竟被忘恩負義的人旁落、輕蔑,他們在狂莽的錯覺中不承認這聖事是在喪失聖洗純潔後,唯一確實的得救方法。」聖母強調,告解亭內的神父,充當著父親、母親、醫生和判官。神父們絕不應視聽告解是浪費時間。

聖體爵內的聖體,是罪惡的解毒劑,人類能容易與救主天主結合的途徑。那些百合花象徵眾多無玷修會的良善修道者。

聖來福手中的極品香油,代表隱修院和修道院發出的芬芳 ── 修院內的純潔和貞潔,淨化了世界醜陋罪惡帶來的污染。聖母說:「沒有隱修院和修道院的世界是有禍的!他們不明白修院的重要性;如果他們真的明白,他們會用財產來籌建更多的修院,因為它們能提供對抗物質和精神凶惡的救藥。」

神父用紫色的領帶,象徵很多熱心稱職的司鐸;而翎筆是司鐸們用來寫下聖母的光榮與痛苦,廣傳對「成功之母」的敬禮,和瑪利娜姆姆的行實。對「成功之母」的敬禮,將在二十世紀發揮奇妙的功能。

1635年1月16日瑪利娜姆姆逝世,她沒有腐朽的遺體,安放在基多的無玷修院內。
