VANCOUVER—The Knights of Columbus in B.C. and the Yukon are being recognized across North America for beating their membership quotas.
At this year’s Knights’ convention in St. Louis, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson presented former State Deputy Arcie Lim (2015-2017) with the Pinnacle Award, the highest membership award for the Knights. It requires a district to meet or beat 105 per cent of its membership quota.
It was the very first time the Knights on Canada’s west coast received this award.
Lim also received the membership-based Jean B. Migneault Memorial Award on behalf of local Knights. The B.C. and Yukon State Council first won that award in 2015.
According to a press release, local Knights donated more than $3.8 million to various charities in 2016. They have donated $10,000 so far to the Diocese of Kamloops to aid wildfire victims, and continue to run programs including Coats for Kids, Food for Families, and a wheelchair distribution program in Third World countries.
