Archbishop Miller presented certificates to several longtime volunteers at The Door Is Open Dec. 4 for their “faithful dedication and outstanding service” to the poor.
The longest serving volunteers were Cheryl Giustra (22 years) and Kwanwoo Lee (20 years).
The Door Is Open is a drop-in centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside that offers food, clothing, counselling, and shelter referrals to people in need.
