The Filipino community at St. James Parish in Abbotsford showed their devotion to the first canonized Filipino martyr on Sept. 28, the feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila.
Bishop Emeritus David Monroe of Kamloops celebrated the event.
St. Lorenzo was born in Manila in 1600.
