Regarding the Sept. 9 article by Terry O’Neill “Black Death gets novel treatment by St. Paul’s MD”:

I am surprised The B.C. Catholic would extol the virtues of Dr. Daniel Kalla’s book We All Fall Down.  I have read it and it portrays the Catholic Church very badly. The villains in the story are two members of the clergy and the archbishop.

I found it very offensive to the Catholic faith.

(The article wasn’t a review of the book but rather a story about a Providence Health Care doctor writing about the return of the Black Death in light of current social problems. Although the chief villains are Catholic clerics from the past and present, it also contains positive Catholic characters – Editor).

I want to thank Colleen Roy for her Aug. 28 column “Ladies, can we talk about modesty at the beach?”

I was so grateful to read about the responsibility we all have to not incite lust in one another and dressing modestly.
