Re “Readers give Unplanned review thumbs down,” (B.C. Catholic, Aug. 26):
I think one of the big questions arising from the controversy surrounding Alan Charlton’s review of Unplanned is why for five decades The B.C. Catholic has given Hollywood free advertising for its products.
This very subtle propaganda machine has, for roughly the same period of time, been at the vanguard of the cultural revolution that has eroded much that we Catholics hold dear.
With all of the goodness, truth, and beauty that God has placed before our eyes, is it really necessary to feast them on such dross as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the boss from hell (Late Night), or Toy Story IV in your pages?

Thanks to Colleen Roy for her Aug. 28 column, “Ladies, can we talk about modesty at the beach?”
She was right on the money throughout the article, and I can see that she understands the male side of this issue.
Thanks, Colleen, for your kind consideration.
