I hope you realize that by using the term “new normal” in a front-page headline you are promoting the destruction of our Christian way of life, which should follow God’s natural laws. Those laws are at this point are being ignored by the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization “advisers” to the great detriment of society, especially seniors.

From the cross, among the last words our Lord uttered to his eternal Father was to forgive us for not knowing what we were doing. In the 21st century we still don’t.
A large minority still has not taken to heart the almost daily reminders and warnings of our health professionals and government officials about the importance of social isolation and safe distancing. In Ontario, the number of infected and dying spiked significantly especially among the younger crowd. It was the logical result of large gatherings of people in parks and beaches, including Vancouver.
Obviously, many people in Canada have not taken this virus seriously and will be paying for their thoughtless and their devil-may-care attitudes as this virus spreads once again.
We are so technically smart and advanced and yet, when it comes to our health, we insist on repeating unsafe practices that have proven to be detrimental and deadly to us, and for which there is no vaccine.
We have not learned the lessons from our neighbors to the south, where infections and deaths are much higher than Canada’s. Many are still in denial. If we do not want to think about ourselves, we should think about those heroic doctors and nurses who are unselfishly sacrificing their lives to save ours in this uphill struggle.

The great civil rights lessons of the past are being forgotten by those who think violence and mayhem will somehow bring about restorative justice to persecuted minorities in the United States and Canada. For the second time in its history, America dispatched the National Guard to frighten and crush rioters and demonstrators furious over the latest in a long series of violence directed towards African Americans and others.
Martin Luther King Jr.’s name has been invoked in the media of late, but the saintly preacher opposed the use of violence because it is not only ungodly, but also futile. He knew the peril in provoking America’s full might when even he couldn’t predict the outcome of their movement’s efforts. To make the point, demonstrators had better rethink their actions.

I became interested in reading newspapers at an early age, in 1960 at the age of 12.
Through the 1960s and early 70s, I recall headlines such as “New ice age coming, scientists say.” Then in the late 70s these stories stopped. Why?
From about the year 1400 to 1800, the earth, especially the northern hemisphere, was unusually cold. Climate scientists themselves call this “the little ice age.”
What happened to the little ice age? It ended and the earth started warming up again, a process that might still be under way.
The earth cools off, the earth heats up, in cycles that take hundreds or thousands of years.
Silly humans think that with the right laws and policies these cycles can be controlled. Meanwhile, God sits in heaven and laughs at man’s puny attempts to “stop climate change.”
