SUMMARY:Start Talking to Your Kids About Sex: A Practical Guide for Catholics
DESCRIPTION:$20/person; $30 for two people – All parents\, educators\, and caregivers are welcome \nIn this workshop\, parents and educators of Catholic children aged 0-18 will learn practical tips for talking about human sexuality with young kids and teens. Facilitated by Dr. Sadusky\, a Catholic psychologist who specializes in sexuality topics\, this talk will cover basic information about introducing medical terms for anatomy\, boundaries\, exploratory play\, pubertal changes\, sexual behaviors and boundaries\, pornography and masturbation\, LGBT+ experiences\, and technology use\, all through a faithfully-Catholic lens. If you didn’t get thorough education or modeling about how to talk about sexuality in developmentally-appropriate ways\, or if you want to sharpen your skills as a parent\, caregiver\, or educator\, this workshop is for you! \nPlease note that this event is for adults only. Parents\, educators\, and caregivers are all welcome! \n\nDr. Julia Sadusky is a licensed clinical psychologist and the owner of a private practice in Littleton\, CO. She is also an author\, consultant\, speaker\, and adjunct professor. Dr. Sadusky has done extensive research and clinical work in sexual and gender development and specializes in trauma-informed care. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Ave Maria University and a master’s degree and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. She has authored several books around human sexuality and the intersection of sexuality and Catholic faith\, with her most recent two-book series entitled\, Start Talking to Your Kids about Sex: A Practical Guide for Catholics (Ave Maria Press\, 2023) and Talking with Your Teen about Sex: A Practical Guide for Catholics (Ave Maria Press\, 2024).
