Archdiocese of Washington files suit against public transit grinch

VANCOUVER—The advertisement pictured above is against bus advertisement guidelines, according to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Those guidelines ban "issue-oriented advertising, including political, religious, and advocacy advertising."
But the Archdiocese of Washington says rejecting this ad violates their First Amendment rights to religious freedom.
It's shutting down our ability to promote our faith or to share our faith in the public square.
The advertisement features three wise men and a link to www.findtheperfectgift.org, a website with details about Advent traditions, Christmas Mass times, and volunteer opportunities.
The Archdiocese of Washington filed a federal suit against the transit authority Nov. 28.
