When a huge, superhero-themed festival hit the streets of Burnaby in June, members of Holy Cross Parish saw an opportunity to evangelize.

They joined the parade with a float featuring a cross crowned with thorns, wearing a red cape, and labelled “hero.” They also carried banners of the Knights of Columbus and symbols of the various activities and charitable works the parish offers.

Parade organizers estimated a total of 50,000 people participated in the festival.
