More than 400 people showed their support for Vancouver’s Redemptoris Mater Seminary by turning out for a fundraiser May 3.

The fairly young seminary (erected in 2013) has already trained four men who have become priests, and another seven are currently in the program.

During the fundraiser, seminarian William Mancao shared the story of how God called him to the priesthood. Other highlights included remarks from Archbishop J. Michael Miller and seminary rector Father Gilbert Nunez, as well as musical performances by members of the Neocatechumenal Way and Korean drum musicians.

According to fundraising chair Karen Allaye-Chan, the event was a success and donations were collected for the general needs of the growing seminary.
