The first-ever Lunar New Year carnival at Precious Blood Parish was a great success.

Pastor Father Paul Chu hosted the big event Jan. 25 to strengthen ties in the local Chinese community and hoped it could also be used as a tool for evangelism.

“We welcome people from all faiths or no faith. We hope to attract some people from no religion to come and know about our church,” he said

“If they feel comfortable in meeting people here, in seeing the place or the celebration, they may come back.”

The carnival featured many live performances, face painting, food, and various other attractions. Earlier in the day, many community members gathered for Mass.
