VANCOUVER—An interactive new calendar is now online for Catholics who want to make Lent matter, but don’t know what to offer up yet.

“Get to know our seminarians a little better,” by specifically praying for all 21 of them, suggests Archdiocese of Vancouver Vocations Director Father Rodney Nootebos.

The Seminarian Calendar, hosted by the Vocations office, features the name of one seminarian on each day of Lent. Hovering a cursor over the day will reveal an image of that young man, and clicking it will take the user to a short biography about him.

It’s a great way to get to know the men who could become future priests, said Father Nootebos. “My personal favourite question that each seminarian answers: ‘If you could be one superhero, who would you be and why?’”

He hopes the calendar will inspire the faithful to offer something up for their intentions during this sacred season.

“Please pray that these seminarians continue to be open to God’s call,” he said. “If they are indeed called to the priesthood, pray that they be good, holy, and joyful priests!”

The calendar can be found at www.vocationsvancouver.ca. Lent begins Feb. 14.
