SQUAMISH—About 200 students and 100 parents sat on the edge of Evans Lake as their pastor, Father Leonardo Rocha, CS, celebrated Mass with them.
It was part of the annual outdoor education experience for St. Helen's Elementary School. Children also spent a few days hiking Stawamus Chief, playing team games, and learning about the environment, indigenous traditions, and reconciliation.
What a great start to our year! It was a beautiful way to implement care for everyone in our common home by developing friendships among students and Jesus in nature, which God created.
