VANCOUVER—There were only 15 people at a small house concert featuring UBC philosophy of education professor and jazz/blues musician Samuel Rocha.

Despite its small size, the event was able to make a meaningful impact. Event organizer Ryle Brual said participants donated $230, children's books, and clothing to pro-life organization Birthright.

It was special because it was so obvious that the hand of God was touch each one of us in blessing, especially because the evening was offered in support of and in solidarity with the work (helping women) in crisis pregnancy.

Sam Rocha is on a mini-tour through Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5.
