It's only November, but supporters of St. Paul's Foundation are already gearing up for a huge annual Chinese New Year celebration.

The Scotiabank Feast of Fortune (set for Jan. 26, 2019) comes just ahead of Chinese New Year and raises funds for Mount Saint Joseph Hospital in Vancouver. Supporters already launched the fundraising campaign leading up to the big, annual banquet Oct. 18 with a cheque for $147,360.

"In 1946, Mount Saint Joseph Hospital opened its doors to help care for the Chinese community in Vancouver - the only hospital in the Lower Mainland to do so - and we are proud of this history," said committee member and gala founder Sing Lim Yeo.

"We're pleased to help continue this long legacy of compassionate care for all patients by supporting the Scotiabank Feast of Fortune."

The event, complete with delicious food, live entertainment, and a live auction, is now in its twelfth year. Chinese New Year falls just over one week later: Feb. 5. About 650 supporters are expected to attend.
