Migrant Ministry volunteers swap ideas at annual meeting
By Agnieszka Ruck
VANCOUVER—About 70 volunteers who minister to Hispanics and migrant farm workers gathered for their annual meeting at the John Paul II Pastoral Centre Nov. 4.
"It was a good meeting," said Father Richard Zanotti, CS, head of Hispanic ministry and pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.
There were many fruitful discussions, he said, about ways to evangelize migrants who come to work on local farms for up to eight months at a time and are in need of community and spiritual support.
The volunteers represented nine parishes who reach out to migrant workers in some way. More information about their efforts is available here.
