PORT COQUITLAM—Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School has been running a fundraiser-auction for the last 23 years. But this year, for the first time, it spiced up that annual event with its very own talent show.

Performers included students, alumni, friends, and even pastor Father Matthew To!

Carney’s Got Talent winner was Gillian Padawan, an ARCSS graduate, who beat out eight other acts with her soulful rendition of The Fugee’s Killing Me Softly.

“It was very fun, and an experience I wouldn’t forget,” said Padawan. “This even is one of my favourites because it highlights the amazing community the high school has. I am truly proud to be a graduate of Archbishop Carney.”

Vice principal Anna Nicolato said the inaugural talent show, along with an auction and dinner, gave “a true testament of our community coming together to support our school, enjoy our present, and build for our future.”
