Florida nun grabs chainsaw to help with hurricane cleanup
By Agnieszka Ruck
VANCOUVER—A nun wasn't afraid to get her habit dirty this week as she grabbed a chainsaw and started cutting trees to clear the roads near Archbishop Coleman Carrol High School near Miami.
There was a need. I had the means. I wanted to help out. At the school, we had the chainsaws sitting in the closet and they didn't belong there. They needed to be used.
An off-duty Miami-Dade police officer saw Sister Margaret Ann working in a full brown habit and took a video that has been shared 27,000 times on Facebook alone.
The nun was even interviewed on CNN about helping clear the roads. She told the reporter it was a good teaching moment for the high school students!
