VANCOUVER—St. Mary's Elementary School celebrated Earth Day with song, dance, and prayer as Deacon Rennie Nahanee came to visit April 25.
The member of the Squamish First Nations taught the students about indigenous culture and gave some practical tips on how to appreciate and protect the environment. "Students enjoyed dancing to the drumbeat as eagles, wolves, orcas, and ravens," added principal Brenda Krivuzoff.
The Student Council also led a prayer examining the need to be in harmony with creation.
