ABBOTSFORD—About 200 people came out for Walk for Life Abbotsford, a family-friendly run at Mill Lake Park to raise funds for Advokate.

The pro-life group runs crisis pregnancy centres in Langley and Abbotsford and hosts public education and media initiatives including video resources, community events, and awareness campaigns about issues including abortion and euthanasia.

The June 2 event featured a barbecue, a bouncy castle, face painting, and prizes. Avid participant Harry Hildebrandt singlehandedly raised $11,500 for the organization.

Advokate hosted a similar fundraiser at the Al Anderson Pool Picnic Grounds in Langley June 16. In total, the events raised at least $52,000.
