Last year more than 150 couples from 50 parishes gathered to celebrate milestone anniversaries with Archbishop J. Michael Miller. This year’s Marriage Anniversary Mass will be substantially smaller.
Because of the pandemic lockdown, there will be no couples present when the archbishop honours couples celebrating their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th, 50th, 55th & 60th+ years of marriage.
The annual Mass started in 2018 and will next take place Sunday, May 10, Mother’s Day. But this year’s couples being honoured, as well as supporters, will participate through a livestreamed celebration from Holy Rosary Cathedral.
Although couples won’t be physically present with the archbishop, they will receive a commemorative certificate from him once the John Paul II Pastoral centre reopens.
To register for the Mass, or to see highlights of last year’s Mass, visit rcav.org/marriage-anniversary The registration deadline is May 15, and couples will be notified when the certificates are ready.
The Mass begins at 11 a.m.
