For 31 days, a statue of Our Lady decorated with a wreath of white roses was set outside the door at St. Joseph’s Church in Langley at 5:15 p.m.
For many Catholics the month of May stands out as a time to honour Mary in a particular way, and for members of St. Joseph’s Parish, gathering in the parking lot to pray the Rosary with the statue in view was one way to do that.
Parishioner Dong Edmilao said members of the community “rally eagerly to support this daily Rosary devotion such that even the intermittent spring shower can’t dampen their spirit.”

Students at St. Helen’s school in Burnaby also honoured Mary in a special way by placing fresh-cut flowers at the foot of a statue of Our Lady in the parish church.
