Update: New Westminster Police announced on May 16 that Magnus has been found and is safe.


New Westminster Police are concerned for the safety of a missing high-risk man known to frequent Catholic churches and parks in New Westminster and Burnaby.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the 38-year-old man, named Magnus, who was last seen in Uptown New Westminster this morning, Tuesday, May 14, at about 7 a.m.

“We are asking the public to help us locate Magnus,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver. “It’s important we find him as soon as possible. Friends and family are very concerned for his safety.”

Magnus is described as a 38-year-old Asian man, standing 5’11” tall and having a slim build, brown eyes, and black hair typically worn in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a black Lululemon puffer jacket and black Lululemon jogger pants.

Magnus has been known to frequent different parks and places of worship in both New Westminster and Burnaby, including St. Peter’s and St. Michael’s in New Westminster and Our Lady of Mercy in Burnaby. He also frequents Grimston Park, Moody Park, and Robert Burnaby Park.

New Westminster police investigators ask anyone who sees Magnus to call 911 immediately.
